Both formats connect to a permanent water supply and drainage, with service equipment in a nearby cabinet. Neither needs a water container refilled.

Built-In

Integrates into cabinetry or a wall opening, with greater outlet clearance and more room for larger bottles, carafes and pitchers than Countertop. Keeps the work surface clear.

Countertop

The dispenser sits on the work surface. Choose this format when you have counter space rather than a cabinet opening.

Before choosing the format

Check the cabinet as well as the counter.

The visible dispenser and service equipment need to be planned together. Choosing Countertop changes where you use the dispenser; it still needs permanent water, drainage and accessible equipment nearby.

Cabinet planning guide Compare the four models

If you are designing cabinetry: Choose Built-In for greater outlet clearance and more room for taller bottles, carafes and pitchers. Reserve a cabinet or wall opening, coordinate the installed height and support, and identify a nearby service cabinet.
If you are keeping the cabinet fronts: Consider Countertop where there is usable work surface and a practical route to nearby equipment. Check overhead clearance, approach to the screen and space for your glasses and bottles.
If you are comparing editions: Select the format and edition you want to discuss. Your enquiry carries the full model name, so the conversation stays tied to the correct Countertop or Built-In installation.
